Looking Back at 2011

by Jun Baranggan on January 1, 2012

2011 was as any other year, a combination of the good and the bad. Looking back though, I see a lot of things to be very thankful for despite the hardships. Our house got flooded 4 times during the year, but those were a far cry to what happened to a lot of Filipinos who got hit by major floods. Looking forward to moving to our new house this year, far from the dangers of the yearly floods.

Career-wise, 2011 saw the fruits of my 3-year 16-hour days. Got my first break last May when I became part of an elderly care startup. Six months later, in November, I joined another startup, this time in the tech services world. 2012 looks very promising, with bigger projects and business ventures looming in the horizon.

Thank you 2011 and welcome 2012!

48 hours later, came their technician. He tinkered with the modem, and after a few minutes left and told me to observe if the problem persists. Persist id did! And the problem was still there. So I called them again, and they replaced my modem. Their technician said it should fix the problem. Unfortunately, it did not! So the technician was back only to inform me that there’s an on-going rehabilitation, so I don’t have any option but wait til it’s done.

A few days later, the rehab was done, but not my connection. Worse, I lost connection since Thursday. So I called 211 again and waited 48 hours for the rescue. And the rescue arrived at 11:00 AM today. [continue reading …]

A proud daddy once again

Another good day, good week for me. Got home with a present from my beloved daughter waiting for me. Her grades for the 1st quarter are out, together with a certificate from the school. I’m very happy with what she already achieved, level 5 at 8 years of age, and isĀ  still achieving, all with flying colors.
